The third edition of The Jewel Empowerment Foundation youth seminar took place 22nd October, 2014, at Oladipo Alayande School of Science, Oke-Bola, Ibadan, Oyo State. The seminar tagged: HOPE IN THE YOUTH – A DRIVE FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE; had representatives from seventeen (17) schools in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
The students that participated were two hundred and sixty two (262) and they were accompanied by thirty (30) teachers. Some of the school that attended includes Army Barracks Grammar School; Oluyole Extension High School; Baptist Grammar School, Idi-Ishin; Government College Ibadan; Ori-Aje Community Secondary School, Kudeti; Eleyele High School; Adekile Goodwill Grammar School; Queen’s School, Apata; Aperin Boy’s High School; Ibadan Boy’s High School; Eyinni High School; Community Grammar School, Gbekuba; to mention but few.
Oyo State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Solomon Oladapo Olaniyonu, who was the ‘Chief Host’, was present to declare the program open. He was accompanied by the director of schools of the state, Mr. E.G Akinyele. Aare Latoosa of Yorubaland, the Father of the Day, was also present to impact the young adults with good morals, cultural values and the beauty of culture. Aare came with his traditional drummers and singers, all dressed in native.Mr. Remi Omowon, Oyo State Director of National Orientation Agency, the special guest of honour, was well represented by Mrs. Dosumu.
Our guest speakers- Mr. AbiodunFijabi ( CEO/Principal Trainer of Lord Princely Associate Ltd), and Mr. Ademola Olaniyi ( Profilic Strategist and Trainer at Theosandi), made justices to the theme of the program, making the youths realise how much is committed to their hands and how much is expected from them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
